ATHLETIC/ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR - starts 7/1/2026

Summary:

The AD oversees all aspects of the Middle and High School Athletics/Activities Program, including hiring coaches and advisors, scheduling, budget preparation, promotion, compliance, and facility management.

$10,000 base salary

Reports to Administrative Team; directly supervised by Middle/High School Principal

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Supervision

  • Post and hire new/replacement coaching/advisorship positions as needed

  • Evaluate coaches and advisors/resolve personnel conflicts as needed

  • Ensure compliance with training requirements and provide for additional opportunities for professional development

  • Game Manage at least 50% of home contests

Organization

  • Schedule/reschedule contests, officials, and event workers for all activities and events

  • Coordinate home event set up, including sound system set up

  • Communicate weekly activities schedule to stakeholders

  • Create seasonal schedule of transportation needs for transportation supervisor

Fiscal Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee annual budget; facilitate budgetary needs requests

  • Coordinate officials/event workers payments

  • Manage uniform and equipment inventory; facilitate purchase/replacement cycle

Oversight of Student Safety, Training, and Eligibility

  • Facilitate parent-student code meeting

  • Schedule impact testing

  • Coordinate athletic trainer schedule

  • Stock training room and first aid supplies

  • Review student grades quarterly and administer eligibility requirements

  • Review and administer student code violation consequences

Additional Responsibilities

  • Provide opportunities for parent-student feedback following each season

  • Support students, parents, and coaches through conflicts or complaints

  • Review and revise co-curricular handbooks as needed

  • Follow and reinforce school policies as they pertain to all co-curricular activity

Professional Responsibilities

  • Attend conference level AD, WIAA, and other meetings as necessary

  • Attend School Board meetings as necessary

  • Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students

  • Remain current in certifications, licenses, etc that pertain to job responsibilities

  • Maintain a positive workplace attitude and demeanor; collaborate with others in a positive manner

  • Know and comply with all District policies and procedures

  • Adhere to all state, federal, local, and legal requirements that pertain to job responsibilities

  • Complete all necessary records and reports in a timely manner

  • Perform other duties as assigned by Administration

SPECIAL EDUCATION PROGRAM ASSISTANT:

The School District of La Farge is looking for an employee to serve as a paraprofessional. Responsibilities include supporting individualized education program (IEP) implementation, including academic, behavioral, and functional, promoting student independence, and collaborating with staff to create a safe and effective learning environment. Other duties may be assigned based on student need, including driving students to and from school. Primary skills needed include knowledge of or a willingness to learn strategies for addressing challenging behavior and working with students with disabilities. Candidates must have strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively and flexibly to meet changing demands in various school environments.

LFSD is open to applicants interested in full time or part time employment.

Salary is commensurate with education and experience, and is regionally competitive.

What Your Day Will Look Like:

A special education assistant’s day is filled with supporting students in achieving their individual goals, from assisting in classroom activities to providing one-on-one guidance with assignments or personal care. They collaborate closely with special education teachers, general education teachers, and related service providers to adapt materials, helping ensure lessons are accessible for each student’s unique needs. Throughout the day, they also help manage behaviors, foster social skills, and encourage independence, creating an inclusive and supportive environment for learning.

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have: 

  • A valid driver's license

  • Experience working with students with learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, health impairments, autism, and/or emotional/behavioral disabilities.  

  • Ability to provide support across all learning environments in order to promote safety, personal management, academic, social, and communication skills in students

  • Willingness and comfort in assisting students in classroom and outdoor learning environments, year round

  • Ability to lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds 

  • Solid clerical, computer, and technology skills 

  • The ability to manage many tasks at the same time and flexibility is a must!

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills

  • High School diploma or equivalent 

Qualifications:

Special Education Program Aide license #883 or any valid WI DPI license.
LFSD will support training and license fees.
