In honor of Public Schools Week, we were visted by Representative Tara Johnson this morning! Rep. Johnson and served our elementary students cinnamon rolls before visiting Juniors and Seniors in their AP Government class to wish them luck on this morning's test - she also brought them snacks! She then visited classrooms to connect with teachers, and left treats as a thank you to La Farge Schools staff. We are so appreciative of her time, support, and enthusiasm for public schools!

La Farge Schools is excited to participate in a cereal drive in partnership with Do Good Wisconsin! We'll be collecting unopened boxes of cereal to donate to a local food pantry. Boxes are being collected between February 23rd and March 1st.

National FFA week officially kicked off this week. Our chapter is looking forward to celebrating, but due to our school schedule and athletic activities we have decided to celebrate March 9th -13th, in hopes for better weather and fewer other activities.

The Third Grade class recently completed their Invention Fair projects. All of the third graders did an amazing job on their inventions. They presented their ideas to their classmates and parents and also were able to share them with students from other grades.
Abby and Makenna were chosen to represent our school at the regional Invention Fair event at Kickapoo. While there, they presented their inventions to students from other schools and got to take part in some STEM activities.

At our monthly La Farge Elementary PBIS Assembly, these students were recognized by their teachers for showing others kindness. In our social-emotional curriculum, students learn about having empathy and finding ways to show each other kindness.
Students were also chosen to take part in our "golden goal" game.

Recently, a group of middle school students had the opportunity to attend a STEAM Day and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. While on campus, students learned about fly fishing, mixed media and protecting yourself from hackers. It was a great opportunity to see what life is like on a college campus!

La Farge Community Blood Drive is tomorrow Tuesday, February 17th. There are still donation times available if you would like to donate. Walk-ins are welcome day of. Donors are eligible for a $20 e-gift card. Come visit the NHS students during the drive at the Community Center.

Day 4 & 5 of our kindness week wrapped up with winners of our kindness challenge and our Giving Back Program!
Our winners received autographed notebooks from Bradie Ewing and the Lions Club made it possible to give out over $3,000 to worthy causes.
It was a great week of reflection and community here at La Farge Schools. 💜🐾
