After a busy afternoon serving the community on Friday, our high school students took time to recharge with a well-deserved mental health break on National Mental Health Day. Relaxation, laughter, and connection — a perfect way to wrap up a day of giving back.

Last Friday, La Farge High School students spent the afternoon giving back to their community! They helped out at the village library, cleaned the EMT and Fire Station, picked up garbage, and weeded the baseball field.
It’s always inspiring to see our Wildcats working hard and making a difference right here at home!

Mark your calendars for the last middle school football game of the season!

Cross country at Riverdale!!

Introducing Geometry students to writing proofs by using Uno cards. Each student or group is given an envelope of Uno cards and they have to figure out what order the cards need to be placed in to get from the starting card to the end card. With each card change they have to explain why they can place that card. This has been a fun activity to get students thinking about how and why they can do the next step for a problem.

Students in the Farm & Home Maintenance class have been busy building covered picnic tables in the Village Park.

Congratulations to the KLF Cross Country Teams on an outstanding performance at the home meet last night. The heat made this race an even bigger challenge but the athletes rose to the occasion with determination and grit.
The varsity boys team were champions, varsity girls took second place, middle school girls team placed 6th, and the middle school boys team were once again champions! Varsity medalists included: Arlon, Theo, Will, Lane, Katie, Kendal, and Kolbie. Middle school medalists were: Talon, Grant, Brady, and Peyton.
The coaching staff would like to extend our gratitude to everyone that volunteered at the meet. There are many moving parts to a big event like this (15 schools and 250 athletes competing) and it would not have run as smoothly as it did without the support of our KLF XC community.

Big night for middle school athletics!!

On Wednesday, October 1, students in Ms. Lund's history classes traveled to Madison for the Talking Spirits cemetery tour, sponsored by the Wisconsin Veterans Museum. This year's theme was "World War II at 80: Paths of Perseverance" and featured four vignettes of people who served in WWII and are buried in the cemetery. We learned about a German POW who was held in Wisconsin and emigrated here after the war; a doctor who served in the Philippines and had to fight the Japanese, even though the medical staff had received no weapons training; a woman who served in the Marine Corps and struggled to find purpose after the war ended; and a bombardier who was shot down in Europe and held in several German POW camps across Europe until he was liberated by General Patton's Army. The weather was beautiful and the stories were powerful and interesting.
