National Honor Society students are hosting a new stuffed animal drive. All donations will be donated to local hospitals and emergency services to help children during tough situations over the winter holidays. We are collecting stuffed animals until Friday, December 16th. There are four drop of locations: La Farge Schools, La Farge State Bank, La Farge Village Office, and Lawton Memorial Library. Each location has a drop box with the poster on it. Thank you for you continued support of the National Honor Society projects.

Events for Monday, December 5th.

Family Journals are one of the 1st Graders favorite activities!!! On the last day of each week, students have the opportunity to respond to family members about exciting things happening at home and school! They write a small response and draw a picture. We love making connections with families!

Bridging Brighter Smiles:
Back to School Time!
It’s time for Back to School Cleanings! In our continued effort to inform your families of our upcoming dental visit, we are providing you with language to send through your school’s messenger system. Below is language to copy & paste for both an email notification as well as text message to send to all families. If your school is scheduled for multiple visit days, you only need to send the message once with the first visit date listed.
We have received very positive feedback from families regarding this level of communication. Thank you for your continued support of your students through our program. We are looking forward to our visit next week!

The kindergartners are getting in the holiday spirit! They were able to get creative with some winter crafts while also targeting foundational skills such as fine motor, hand-eye coordination, and problem solving. The kids love having time for creativity during the busy learning day!

Events for Thursday, December 1st.

Creative play in 4K!
"Jail the Mice," is a game where 4K can use their imagination and color coordination. The 4K students enjoyed using their skills to chase the running "mice" as they scampered under the curtain into the court. Then once caught, the mice patrol were able to put each mouse in their team's colored hula hoop. This kept the students scampering and squealing, in hopes of playing one more round of catching those pesky mice this time of year!

The giving tree hosted by the National Honor Society has an update of a few additional slots to pick from. If you missed out on selecting a student last week there is still time to support additional students. The additional slots will benefit students at the school throughout the school year. Rockton Bar also has a few names left on their tree if you would like additional options. If you have any questions, let Heidi Rastall know at rastallh@lafarge.k12.wi.us. Thank you for supporting our students and families! All gifts need to be returned to the school by Friday, December 16th. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0D45A4AB2BAAF9C16-virtual2

Nurse Emily spent time this month visiting some of the Elementary Classrooms to talk about germs and learn the importance of handwashing! 5th graders got to test their skills with a fun "glo-germ" experiment. 4K students learned all about the proper way to wash their hands.

1st quarter honor roll was recognized earlier this month with their certificates, gpa stickers and a popsicle. Congratulations to the following students and all their hard work!

The High School Student Council greatly appreciates all help during this time. It's a great opportunity for them to witness the holiday spirit!

Check out our "Thankful Tree" that greets students and staff upon entering our building this week! Sources of Strength has been sponsoring activities to practice gratitude and reflect on all the things we are thankful for. Middle school students created the paper chain garland while high schoolers contributed leaves of gratitude to the tree. Happy Thanksgiving!

Congratulations to these students who were recognized at our elementary assembly today for showing others compassion and making our school a great place to be!
