Yesterday, the library hosted Breakfast & Books. It was a great event where students could explore many of the books the library has with their family and friends while enjoying a delicious breakfast!

Mrs. Palmer's Infant, Toddler, and Child Development class will be spending time with Miss Grainger's 4K class throughout the year to help enhance their learning about developmental phases. Last week, the students spent time together playing with toys in the 4K room to help them get to know each other a little better.

A sad goodbye and congratulations to Lori Phillips today who ended her career with us after 22 years to the day. She was always a bright face when going through the lunch line. The students and staff will miss her, but we also thank her for her many years of servicing and feeding our students!

Mrs. Jacobson’s 2nd graders have been studying about life in the past. We made our own punch tin lanterns this week. It was hard work with a hammer and nail.

Our first ever RoShamBow event was a success! Students and staff battled it out in friendly competition all day long until two students held all the beads. Check out the intensity in their faces and a video of the final duel in the comments.

This past week, the 3rd grade class finished their unit on voting so they put what they learned into action! Students had their voter registration card in hand and got it validated before they voted. They were voting for which movie they wanted for our movie day. Exercising our civic duty is important and the kids were thrilled to practice.

The Kindergarteners got to do some hands-on learning this fall season! After learning about the parts of a pumpkin, they were able to get their hands dirty and check out the inside of a pumpkin for themselves. They had so much fun squishing around the "guts" while they separated out the seeds. When they were finished, they got to come back the next day and taste test some delicious roasted pumpkin seeds!

As part of their celebration of Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) this week, 8th grade Spanish students designed their own sugar skull creatures. Students also discussed the history, traditions, and symbols behind this Mexican holiday and compared it to our celebration of Halloween. They found that it was very different from Halloween, although it includes a few similar elements.
