Congratulations to the KLF Cross Country Teams on an outstanding performance at the home meet last night. The heat made this race an even bigger challenge but the athletes rose to the occasion with determination and grit.

The varsity boys team were champions, varsity girls took second place, middle school girls team placed 6th, and the middle school boys team were once again champions! Varsity medalists included: Arlon, Theo, Will, Lane, Katie, Kendal, and Kolbie. Middle school medalists were: Talon, Grant, Brady, and Peyton.

The coaching staff would like to extend our gratitude to everyone that volunteered at the meet. There are many moving parts to a big event like this (15 schools and 250 athletes competing) and it would not have run as smoothly as it did without the support of our KLF XC community.

On Wednesday, October 1, students in Ms. Lund's history classes traveled to Madison for the Talking Spirits cemetery tour, sponsored by the Wisconsin Veterans Museum. This year's theme was "World War II at 80: Paths of Perseverance" and featured four vignettes of people who served in WWII and are buried in the cemetery. We learned about a German POW who was held in Wisconsin and emigrated here after the war; a doctor who served in the Philippines and had to fight the Japanese, even though the medical staff had received no weapons training; a woman who served in the Marine Corps and struggled to find purpose after the war ended; and a bombardier who was shot down in Europe and held in several German POW camps across Europe until he was liberated by General Patton's Army. The weather was beautiful and the stories were powerful and interesting.

We can now accept electronic donations through the link below or QR code.

La Farge Schools is thrilled to announce the launch of an exciting new initiative — the development of our weight room!
This project is more than just outfitting a space with equipment — it’s about investing in the health, strength, and future of our students. A dedicated weight room will provide countless benefits, from boosting mental well-being and building confidence, to enhancing personal fitness and supporting our student-athletes in reaching their full potential. Regular physical activity has been proven to reduce stress and anxiety, sharpen focus, and promote lifelong healthy habits — and now, we’re making that opportunity more accessible than ever.
This project will be completed in phases in order to purchase initial equipment and continue to add and develop the weightroom with additional equipment.
Together, with the help of our great supporters, we’re creating a space where every student can grow stronger — in body and mind. Join us as we build a healthier, stronger La Farge!

Phase 1 consists of:
1) 14' rig /2 half rack system with storage between the unit
2) Two tip up multi bench units
3) Two bars and supporting bumper plate products
Totaling: $7,000

Phase 1.5: FULLY FUNDED!!! (Thank you Justin's Lawncare!)

Rubber flooring for protection of equipment and the area: $1,200

Total for Phase 1 & 1.5: $8,200

Total Raised: $1,200 as of 10/1

If you are interested in financially supporting this project, there are two ways to invest! First, a general donation toward the project, or individuals and businesses can fund an entire station. All donors will be recognized in the weightroom, those donating an entire unit will have their name/business on a plaque next to the equipment donated. Reach out to Mrs. Benson for more information at bensona@lafarge.k12.wi.us or by phone, 625-0115.
(Our final weight room goal is 4 systems)

Donations can be made at the following link: https://www.paypal.com/ncp/payment/T6WMHJ6FDGB5S

Through the QR code, or cash and checks can be dropped off in the office during school hours. Checks can be made out directly to La Farge Schools, with weight room in the memo.

We were proud to welcome Representative Tara Johnson to the La Farge Schools today, as part of her Back to School Tour of the 96th Assembly School Districts!
Rep. Johnson enjoyed a guided tour of our campus, and then met with 4th graders from La Farge Elementary and Kickapoo Valley Forest School in our sunny courtyard. Rep Johnson and the students discussed Wisconsin history and what its like to serve as an elected official in Wisconsin. Each student received a sticker, and each classroom received a laminated map of Wisconsin and a brand new Blue Book! Published biennially, the Wisconsin Blue Book is a valuable source for information about the State of Wisconsin.
Thanks to Representative Tara Johnson for visiting us!
