Learning how to read and write well involves word recognition and language comprehension. Developing language comprehension at home can be as simple as reading books with nursery rhymes, talking about home and community life, or discussing word meanings with your child. If you’re interested in further suggestions, District Reading Specialist, Mrs. Curtis, has pulled together a few resources for families to check out regarding how to support literacy at home. Providing children with access to learn how to read and write well is an opportunity for families and teachers to partner together on.

Last Thursday, students celebrated their achievements as they made a HUGE impact through Kids Heart Challenge! They learned and saved lives along the way. Whether your family raised funds, spread awareness or took a challenge, you are a HEART HERO! Thank you! The final event day was full of fun, exercise, and new jump rope records! Students shattered the fundraising goal so not only did Mr. Larson get egged and pie faced. Mr Hanson was pie faced as well!

Thank you for making our Book Fair amazing! Profits from the fair will be used to buy materials and books for the La Farge School Libraries. Your support is greatly appreciated!
