La Farge Elementary Carnival Tuesday, June 1st Through generous donations from our amazing community members, La Farge Elementary students will be having an end of the year carnival. The carnival will include two bouncy houses, a dunk tank, games, prizes, face painting, sno cones, and popcorn. Students will be taking part in the event throughout the day in different age groups: 4th and 5th Graders - 8:30 - 10 am 2nd and 3rd Graders - 10:15 - 11:45 am 4K, K, and 1st Graders - 12:30 - 2 pm

Yesterday the Library hosted a Breakfast and Book Giveaway, featuring Hansen's Bakery donuts and some books and magazines that had been removed from circulation due to age or damage. Kids and families had a great time browsing and selecting some summer reading material while enjoying a special treat. Thanks to Mrs. Buhr, Mrs. Miller, and Mrs. Wirts for a fun event! #EveryStudentEveryDay

*Update about the MS/HS Concerts tonight: Due to copyright law, the concerts cannot be streamed on our Vernon Communications channel nor on YouTube. There are limited seats available for community members, and our musicians would love to have you hear their first concerts in over a year! Please call the office with any questions. The beat goes on....!!!! We are so excited to announce that the Middle and High School Music students will be presenting an in-person concert on Tuesday, May 25. MS students will perform at 6:00 pm and HS students will begin at 7:00 pm. MS students will be able to invite 4 guests and HS students will be able to invite 7 guests. An email has been sent to parents with a link to sign up your guests!🎼🎹🎺🎤🎶 Our seniors will present their final concert and our 6th graders will be presenting their first concert. It will be a special night!

Friday, May 21, 2021 La Farge Schools will be dismissing at 1:15 today due to the Village needing to turn off our power for an extended duration. Bus routes will run as usual. If your student will have different dismissal plans, please call the office before 1:00.

Here are the English 10 final projects for their “Personal Experience Speeches.” Each student gave a 2-4 minute speech about a personal experience that shaped their life. After the speeches, students put together collages to represent the theme of their personal experience. It was so fun to see a spoken piece become a creative work of physical art!

Adventure Club Outing @ Wildcat State Park Hemlock Trail Description: “The narrow and rugged trail travels along the sandstone cliffs above the Kickapoo River and then begins a series of switchbacks to Mount Pisgah, an elevation change of 365 feet. An observation point at 1,220 feet above sea level has been constructed to take in the spectacular view.” ✅✅ It was a steep hike but these kids all made it to the top! So proud of them. The climb was definitely worth the view! It was a great day out in the woods! 🌲🍃🌷🌳

CONGRATULATIONS to high school art students Natalie Marron, Hayden Benson and Macey Wood for their winning pieces of art in the 3rd Congressional District Art Competition. Natalie Marron took 1st place with her painting, 'Polaroid'. She has earned two tickets to Washington D.C. and her entry will be displayed for a year in the U.S. Capitol alongside the other contest winners from across the country. Hayden Benson took 2nd place with her prisma drawing, ‘Green Plants’. It will be on display at Ron Kind’s office in D.C. for a year. Macey Wood took 4th place with her photography, ‘Patina’ which will stay in one of Kind's local district offices for a year. We’re so very proud of these young artists, congratulations again!

Romeo and Juliet but make it modern 😎📱🔥 English 9 students took the famous balcony scene and rewrote the script as a Snapchat conversation using a fake Snapchat creator website.
